The three day training organised at CMC, Chnaderi on 28 -30 April 2007 covered basics of computer hardware and software, typing using unicode Hindi and Urdu, Internet browsing, search engines, email and content management systems to manage website content. Participants showed interest in much useful content particularly for literacy, learning English language and science and mathematics learning modules.
Training on radio covered radio production process and using radio for information dissemination on social problems and to promote existing work of BVS such as promoting SHGs. Participants also planed, recorded and edited one radio programme of 10 min duration on problems of the Chanderi weavers especially during rainy season.
A computer, book on communication skills and other reference materials were handed over to the participants. Participants were given the assignment of writing five stories based on their experiences on various civil services, developmental programmes and social issues and type them in Hindi / Urdu before the second training planned for third week of April.
Meeting with BVS members discussed licensing procedure for community radio and BVS website to promote sales of Chanderi fabric and to showcase BVS work in Chanderi.
